TRINIDAD SEH DEM NEVA TREAT JAMAICANS NO WAY–UNO TAP GUH DEH

The government of Trinidad and Tobago says the 12 Jamaicans who were denied entry to that country last month were barred on the grounds that they were likely to become a charge on public funds.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says this decision is in keeping with the country’s immigration laws and was communicated to Jamaica’s High Commissioner to Trinidad & Tobago David Prendergast during a meeting last Tuesday.

The foreign ministry has also disputed claims by the Jamaicans that they were ill-treated by immigration personnel after the decision to deny them entry.

It says once the decision was taken to deny entry to the 12 Jamaicans, members of the group as well as Caribbean Airlines representatives were notified as stipulated by section 21 of the country Immigration Act.

In a statement issued yesterday, the Trinidad foreign ministry said the Jamaicans were then placed in the care of Caribbean Airlines to await a flight to Kingston.

It says prior to their departure on March 22, the group was served a meal, provided with blankets and escorted to the washroom upon request.

  1. This is utter crap. One of the women was on the Cutting Edge the other day and she stated that the immigration officer gained attitude with her after she stated that he husband was in the US. The officer told her that she should be going to the US and not Trinidad. Of the 12 individuals, one woman was blocked entry because she allegedly could not provide proof for her grandchild.

What’s worse those is that they were denied food, access to maintain their hygiene, they had to sleep on the floor in the open airport. These people were treated like subhumans.

  2. The first shall be the last and the last first. There was a time not so long ago when Trinidad was no place to be. Sake a Jamaican govts bad management of the country and no real push to be a highly successful and vibrant nation, now all who was nothing and never make an impact globally can treat Jamaicans any how. Even di shittiest of places a scrutinize wi. I wonder what the current ruling party’s 20yr plan is for the nation is, cause dats usually how long dem season be.

  3. I don’t know why Jamaicans running to that cunt of a country. Migrating from Jamaica to Trinidad is a sideways move. Trinidad is not much different from Jamaica. If u can’t find job a Jamaica, you nah find none a Trinidad.

  4. Speaking as a former immigration officer. I was fired in 2011 for speaking to the Jamaica Gleaner about an issue regarding Jamaicans entering T&T. We were instructed by our former head if state’s not to allow ‘Jamaicans, Hatians & Nigerians’ into our islands for more than 8 reasons.

And especially Jamaicans. With all due respect I personally don’t and never have a problem with my fellow island people, but for all the Jamaicans whom planning on visiting our island in the near future. 7 out of 10times y’all will be refused and denied entry.

    Just don’t go there.
