TRUE SUCCESS-GOOD MORNING

TRUE SUCCESS

Then he said, “Beware! Don’t be greedy for what you don’t have. Real life is not measured by how much we own.” Luke 12:15
The bible says that all the things that Jesus did cannot be written in a book because they were too many to be written. The ministry of Jesus remains the most successful and eventful work that was, is and will ever be done to establish the kingdom of God here on earth. In His mission statement that was prophesied by the Prophet Isaiah, Jesus said “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has appointed me to preach Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the downtrodden will be freed from their oppressors, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.” (Luke 4:18 – 19) and this was exactly what He did. The reason why you have this devotional in your hand right now is because Jesus’ mission was accomplished. And now, thousands of years later, the story of Jesus remains a life giving force that is immutable and true.
Yes of course, He turned water into wine, multiplied bread and fish but that is not the reason why we celebrate Jesus. We celebrate Jesus because of the way He touches our lives. Herein lies life’s biggest lesson; success is not about how much money you make, it is about the difference you make in people’s lives. Today people do all sorts of things just because they want to leave behind a legacy of success. That is the height of ignorance. You must begin to redefine the values by which you live so that you can escape the perversion that comes from lust for wealth, power and fame. Your quest for success must be inspired, guided and driven by a sincere desire to serve others. Jesus clearly told His disciples that the greatest is the servant of all. We serve people not money or the process of making money. Let today’s meditation free you from yoke of desperation that is brought on people who have an inordinate quest for material gains.
Liberation thought: Service to mankind is the true measure of success.
