A 16-year-old girl and a 26-year-old woman are behind bars after they were reportedly nabbed with ganja at the Norman Manley International Airport yesterday afternoon.

The teenager is a student and the woman, who has been identified as Shelly-Ann Thomas, is a waitress. Both are from Ocho Rios, St. Ann. They have been charged with possession of ganja, dealing in ganja, taking steps preparatory to export ganja and conspiracy.

It’s reported that about 2 o’clock Miss Thomas and the teenager arrived at the airport and checked in to board a flight to Barbados.

Their luggage was screened and three parcels containing six pounds of compressed ganja allegedly found. The ganja is valued at $22,400.
