WOMAN IN DIVORCE RACKET FINED 6M

A St. James woman, who pleaded guilty to providing fake documents to persons in a divorce racket in western Jamaica, was fined J$6 million when she appeared in the Home Circuit Court on Friday.

Sandra Brown was fined four million dollars or three years in prison for one count of forgery and two million dollars or two years imprisonment for one count of obtaining money by false pretence.

If the fines are not paid she will serve three years in prison.

Brown was offered bail by Justice Shelly Williams and given six months to pay the fines.
