Andrea Hutzler, told Fox 5 in Washington, D.C., that she was fed up after her Christmas gifts, clothes and even 6-foot-long aluminum construction poles kept vanishing from the front step of her Washington, D.C. home.
Hutzler decided to get a little help from her dogs to get revenge on the man stealing her gifts.
She installed surveillance cameras and called police after reviewing the video. She watched the same man walk up to her house again and again, look around, then nab whatever had been delivered to her K Street home. Police estimate the amount of stolen goods to be worth $858.
The thief can be seen reaching in to help himself to Hutzler’s deliveries. (DC Metropolitan Police Dept.)
As officers investigated, the thefts continued and Hutzler decided enough was enough. She filled a box with feces from her two dogs, left it in front of the house, and watched as the same man, undeterred by the cameras, arrived to steal her deliveries, Hutzler said.
“I feel happy,” she told the station. “I had wanted to put in a note like, ‘Suprise! Please stop stealing my crap.’”
As police continue to look for the sticky-fingered creep, Hutzler has changed her mailing address to her friend’s house.
