KINGSTON, Jamaica — A 22-year-old Manchester woman was recently slapped with a six-month sentence for smuggling drugs and razors to her boyfriend while visiting him in prison.

Rose-Marie Moore was busted with eight ounces of ganja, ‘Rizla’ and razor blades inside a dish of food she brought for her boyfriend at the Horizon Adult Remand Centre in Kingston.

Prior to sentencing Moore told the court that she was not aware of what was in the dish that she said she received from the cousin of her boyfriend in Spanish Town.

But Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey wasn’t convinced.

“Stay with your boyfriend,” Pusey told the woman before handing down the sentence.

“I never knew,” Moore insisted.

“That is why I don’t carry nothing for nobody, not even for myself,” Pusey said.

Moore was sentenced to six months each on separate charges of introducing contraband, possession of ganja and possession of an offensive weapon..

However she will serve six months as the sentences are to run concurrently. She was ordered fingerprinted.
