Women not allowed to visit, carry food for relatives at Negril lock-up

Persons were denied providing meals to their loved ones being held in police custody at the Negril lock-up in Westmoreland on Sunday.

Videos obtained show several angry female citizens bemoaning the actions of the police to not allow the food being delivered, and allowing any visitors at the lockup.

“Dem wicked!” Screamed one upset woman, who recoreded the happenings outside the lockup.

“Murder the police dem a beat di prisoners dem round deh!” Shouted another woman outside the station.

It is not immediately clear why the police have taken these actions.

However, since the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the Department of Correctional Services (DCS) have put a hault on all visitations at the island’s prisons to prevent the virus from affecting its prisoners.

It is not clear if the same procedure applies to the police station lockups.

  1. Speaking of food uno notice how everyone turn Chefs? Everyday a food posting.. only dolly and her sister not showing themselves cooking and posting.. which is good because we have to do stuff to keep us from going crazy… but who care what you cooking or eating in your space now in pandemic?
