WTF AFRICA- HUMAN HEARTS FOR BOOSTING BUSINESS

A 35-year-old man, Lekan Bakare, who was arrested by the Ogun State Police Command in connection with the killing of a 16-year-old girl, Olayinka Adebayo in Ijebu Ode in August 2016, has told of how he got a human heart from his friend to make charms that would boost their business.

Bakare, who had been on the run since the act was discovered, however denied knowing the person whose heart was removed and given to him.

According to the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, during a press briefing, four other members of Bakare’s syndicate were arrested and remanded in prison while undergoing prosecution in court.

He added that a team from the anti-kidnapping unit of the command had been on a manhunt for Bakare who escaped in 2016, until he was arrested on July 31.

“After the suspect’s arrest, he confessed to have supplied two human hearts to one of the suspects in prison custody,” Iliyasu stated further.

Speaking with Tribune Online during an interview, Bakare, from Ago-Iwoye town, admitted: “Police found human parts in my possession. I have never killed in my life; it was one of my friends, Oye, who gave me the human hearts and asked me to hand them over to one Tunde, who was also one of our friends.

“The police found the human hearts with Tunde and he mentioned my name. Tunde was to do the ritual. I know I made a terrible mistake. I have never done such a ritual before; that was my first time of engaging in such. They wanted to use it for ritual to boost business. I don’t know how Oye got the human hearts.”
