WTF AFRICA-SIDE MAN BEAT HUSBAND

Her Lover Beat Me, Left Me With Swollen Face, Bloodshot Eye —Husband

A man, Taiwo Hazzan has prayed Oja Oba/ Mapo Court C Customary Court, Mapo, Ibadan, Oyo State, to put a stop to the relationship between him and his wife, Yetunde Hazzan.

Taiwo who married his wife 19-years-ago stated that she’s disobedient and adulterous, adding that she would kill him if allowed to stay under his roof a minute longer. According to him, his fear was that she could infect him with STDs and that he was not ready to die now.

Yetunde who initially refused to accede to divorce giving the welfare of their children as her major reason, later agreed that they go their separate ways. She accused her husband of negligence of duty in their marriage and this especially with regards to their children’s welfare.

“My lord, I’m young and still have a lot to achieve in life. I, therefore, don’t want to die in my prime. If I stay a minute longer under the same roof with my wife, she will terminate my life.

“My wife is stubborn and defiant in nature. She has no respect for me and is always insisting on having her way.

“She’s dirty and untidy and leaves the home unkempt.

“Yetunde has never been concerned about our children’s welfare. She refuses to cook for the home despite giving her feeding allowance, but will rather give the children money to buy food from food vendors. Our children constantly complain of being underfed and abandoned at home by their mother.

“All that my wife knows to do is to bathe in the evening, dress up, rub powder on her face like a masquerade and leave the home for her lovers. She will stay out for hours and return home at ungodly hours.

“If I ask her where she had gone to or with who she had been with, she will tell me bluntly she spent the evening with men better than me.

“We fight every night she returns home and have become a nuisance in our compound and the neighbourhood at large.

“I once caught her with one of her lovers in a compromising position and I challenged him. The man beat me and would have maimed me but for those around who rescued me from his hands. I nursed a swollen face and bloodshot eye for more than a week.

“My lord, my wife sleeps around and doesn’t hide this from me. I still have a lot to accomplish in life while I also don’t want our children to suffer. If I continue with her, she will infect me with STDs and send me to an early grave.

“I, therefore, appeal to this honourable court to separate us and grant me custody of our children so as not to be corrupted by her indecent lifestyle.

“I’m now ready for divorce, “the defendant told the court after she had initially disagreed to it.

“He’s a failure in the home. I’m the one feeding him and our children. I also clothe them all. But he still has the guts to tell the court I’m irresponsible and wayward.

“He never wanted to be involved in our children’s education until I insisted that we both share the payment of their fees.

“My lord, my mind is now made up on leaving him. I want to start my life afresh, “she said.

Giving his judgment, the court president, Chief Ademola Odunade dissolved their union and granted custody of the first and second children aged 19 and 13 years respectively to the plaintiff. The last child, a five-year-old was asked to be with the defendant.

The plaintiff was ordered to pay the sum of N5, 000 monthly through the court as their last child’s feeding allowance.

He was also mandated to be responsible for his general welfare with health care and education given paramount attention.
