Approximately 123 people, including three wanted men, were taken into custody for processing during the first 24 hours of the State of Public Emergency in St Catherine North.

Twenty-seven remain in custody, while the other 96 have been processed and released. Four members of the Montego Bay-based G-City Gang were also picked up in operations on Sunday, March 18, the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s (JCF) Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) said in a release today.

The Police informed that of the 27 people in custody, three of the men are wanted for several offences to include; Simple Larceny, Shooting with Intent, Unlawful wounding and Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.

Another three men were arrested for Breaches of the Firearms Act following the seizure of a Glock pistol with a magazine containing 10 rounds on the Bernard Lodge main road, also on Sunday. Two others were arrested for Breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.

The identities of the men are being withheld pending further investigations.

A state of public emergency was declared yesterday in the St Catherine North police division in light of several murders and rampant acts of crime occurring in the division.

The police said it is reminding the public that it is an offence to harbour criminals.

Meanwhile, members of the security forces continue their operations across the parish and are asking anyone with information on gang operations, wanted individuals and any illegal activities to call, text or send information via Whatsapp to 837-8888.

  1. They said most of the murders are link to infighthing within the Clansman Gang and Tesha Miller is wanted for questioning. The question is: Is Tesha Miller still in Jamaica or he back in the USA? How is it our police intelligence unit do not know where this guy is 24/7?

  2. I agree with the state of emergency but why are they singling out clans man gang? Isnt One order gang still in commission or did they dismantle them?

If they are still up and running Andre Holiness needs to stop politicizing crime. People need to call him out. Round up all wanted man regardless of political affiliation.

  3. I heard that blackman ..the same one who was at war with tesha miller has been in custody since Thursday.
