5 MURDERED IN JAMAICA ALREADY

With just two days into the new year, Jamaica has recorded five murders.

The murders occured in Clarendon, St. Ann and Westmoreland, Kingston and St. Andrew.

St. Ann recorded its first murder for 2018 after a man was stabbed at Little Dunn’s River beach.

He has been identified as 21 year old Nakeem Gardner of Pimento Walk in Ocho Rios.

It is reported that about 3:50 p.m., Mr. Gardner was at Little Dunn’s River beach when a dispute developed between him and another man.

The man’s brother intervened, using a knife to stab Mr. Gardner in the neck.

He was rushed to St. Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Following the incident, the man and his brother escaped in a Toyota Probox motorcar and were later intercepted by a police patrol team.

When the men alighted the car, a tussle ensued between a policeman and one of them.

A policewoman drew her firearm and discharged two rounds, one of which hit the policeman in his buttocks.

He was taken to hospital where he was treated and released.

The driver of the car and the other man who committed the act were taken into custody.

In Westmoreland, 47 year old Paul Malcolm, otherwise called ‘Bulldog’, of Water Lane in the parish, was shot dead.

The Frome police say that residents stumbled upon Malcolm’s body about 3:20 Monday morning and called them.

The police say on their arrival, Malcolm was seen lying on the ground with two gunshot wounds to his upper body.

He was pronounced dead at hospital.

Omar Morgan, 46, was fatally shot by gunman in Lake Bridge in Brandon Hill, St. Andrew on Monday.

Baggio Orr, 20, of King Street in Kingston was also shot and killed by gunmen in his community on Monday.

Meanwhile, a man was killed in York Town, Clarendon on Tuesday morning.

He has been identified as 40 year old Franklin Morgan of York Town and Comma Pen, in St. Elizabeth.

Reports indicate that shortly after 8 o’clock, Mr. Morgan was riding his bicycle when he was shot.

Residents heard the explosions and called the police.

Morgan’s body was found on the side of the road.

RJR News understands that he was deported from the United States two months ago.
