The popular home improvement chain store reported that in April of this year, hackers got into their network using a third party vendor’s user name and password and stole millions of email addresses belonging to its customers.
The hackers were able to steal information through malware installed on self-checkout systems in the U.S. and Canada.Home Depot reported in September that over 56 million customer’s debit and credit card information and the most recent breach was a file containing the email addresses of some of its customers but contained no other sensitive information.
