Teacher collapses, dies at workshop
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — It has been reported that Shenoria Hemmings Lee, a language arts teacher at the Spanish Town High School in St Catherine, collapsed and was later pronounced dead at hospital.
Hemmings Lee, the third to have died within the past three weeks, was reportedly attending a Ministry of Education organised standards curriculum workshop at the Central High School in May Pen, Clarendon at the time of the incident.
The Jamaica Teachers Association (JTA) this afternoon said in a release that it is saddened by the death.
JTA President Howard Isaacs also said the association is extremely concerned about the number of teachers dying while on the job.
