A PROPHET’S REWARD-GOOD MORNING

A PROPHET’S REWARD

And he said to her, “Give me your son.” So he took him out of her arms and carried him to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him on his own bed. 20 Then he cried out to the Lord and said, “O Lord my God, have You also brought tragedy on the widow with whom I lodge, by killing her son?” 1kings 17:19 – 20

God is not unrighteous to forget your labour of love even as you minister to His people. The widow of zeraphath took care of Elijah after the brook dried up during the drought that the prophet had himself pronounced over the land and now her son dies even while the prophet was in her house but God heard the prayer of Elijah and restored life to the boy. God knew a time will come that the widow will need the grace that was upon the prophet to rescue her only son from death. Thus, God positioned her to preserve the life of the prophet so that the prophet can also in turn preserve the life of her son.

Don’t take for granted the times when God asks you to give to a man of God. Don’t minimize the quantity of what you have to give and don’t be discouraged from giving. All the widow could give was bread and water, no meat or wine but that little she gave spoke for her in the day of adversity. Take advantage of every opportunity to position yourself for this grace in your local church. Let your pastor eat of your bread because he that gives to a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. The prophet’s reward is life giving.

Liberation thought: whoever gives to a prophet gets a prophet’s reward.

Prayer:

I speak to every seed that I have sown, let it grow to yield a mighty harvest, in the name of Jesus!
Father, thank you because you show me good ground in which I can sow my seeds, in the name of Jesus
