Ten people were shot and injured in separate incidents in West Kingston between Friday and Saturday evening.

Reports from the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) are that in one incident, about 9:30 pm on Friday, six people were gathered by a utility pole on St James Street in Denham Town when they were attacked by two men.

The CCU said the men approached the group and opened gunfire hitting them multiple times before fleeing.

Three people were later shot in the vicinity of Maxfield in Kingston by two men. The CCU said the men approached them and opened gunfire hitting them.

Meanwhile, an 18-year-old man was shot in the vicinity of Bond Street in Kingston by two armed men on Saturday.
