ALL BANK EMPLOYEE DID INVOLVE INA COMMISSIONER IDENTITY THEFT CASE

Four persons, including a bank employee, suspected to be involved in a major scam targeting the accounts of bank customers, appeared before the St. Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday.

The four are accused of stealing $1.3 million from the credit card account of Police Commissioner Antony Anderson.

Charged with fraud and illegal possession of identity information are Conray Hanson, an employee of the National Commercial Bank, Giovanni Gillings, a call centre employee, Annessa Curry and businessman Earl Hobins.

Hanson, Gillings and Hobins had their bail extended until June 26, however, Curry who has a previous conviction for fraud was remanded.

Investigators say she was convicted in a false name.

They are now trying to determine her identity.

The four were arrested following a C-TOC probe launched in February after it was discovered that members of a criminal network had cloned the credit card of General Anderson.

They stole $1.3 million from General Anderson’s credit card on February 22 when he was the National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister.

Investigators suspect that the accused are involved in a network that has been targeting the debit and credit card accounts of bank customers.

The cops have launched a manhunt for other persons suspected to be involved in the network.
