Detectives assigned to the Narcotics Division are reporting the arrest of a Bahamian man and the seizure of cocaine with an estimated street value of J$1 million at the Sangster International Airport today.
The man has been identified as 52-year-old Burlin Mitchell Starr of South Beach, Nassau.
Reports are that about 9:00 am, officers were conducting security checks on passengers in the departure hall when three rectangular shaped parcels wrapped in masking tape were found.
The parcels were cut open and found to contain packages wrapped in articles of clothing containing cocaine weighing approximately two pounds.
