Do You Want to be Made Well?

“Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” John 5:7

One of the remarkable characters of the spirits responsible for bondage is to make its victim diffident that a solution can ever come his or her way, considering the long years of waiting upon the Lord. Also, there are people who are active in the church and fervently waiting upon the Lord for their miracle but at the very moment the miracle begins to manifest, spirits of doubt, unbelief, and misunderstanding will show up.

When Jesus met the man at the Pool of Bethesda, one would naturally expect that the most urgent desire of this man with a thirty-eight year infirmity was healing. All that the he needed to do was to say, “Lord, heal me”. Rather, he started a storyline that dated back to thirty-eight years. Rather than answer the simple question Jesus asked him: “Do you want to be made well?” the man began an arduous account of the impossibilities and incapability of his life. “What do you want me to do?” That was all Jesus was interested in. But the spirit of bondage had locked up this man’s reflexes to liberation; it is bent on killing him. The man has been sitting right there at the pool where others have been receiving their miracles and walking home healed. But he could not tell what he wanted, even when Jesus Christ appeared before him asking him to open his mouth and state his desire.

By virtue of the same anointing that healed this man, I prophesy to you today: no matter the amount of years they have held you from making progress, every ‘Pisgah’ power that has kept you shall catch fire now, in the name of Jesus. Everywhere they have stopped you: in your business and career endeavours, or in your family; they shall stumble and be consumed by fire because of you. Amen!

Liberation Thought: Do not conceal your problem from the Lord or it kills you.
