The police are yet to charge the four Jamaican nationals in their custody who were detained in connection to the 2,600 pounds of cannabis netted in last weekend’s drug sting.

The police said the three men and a woman are still being interrogated about the controlled substance that carries an estimated street value of $10.4 million.

The prohibited substance was discovered when lawmen executed a search warrant on Friday night at a house in Hodges Bay.

Charges could include drug trafficking, possession and possession with intention to transfer the illegal substance, among others charges.

According to the police, this is the largest cannabis bust so far for this year. In July, six men were arrested and charged with unlawful possession of 133 and a-half pounds of cannabis, possession of 13,651 cannabis plants and possession of the drug with intent to supply it to others and drug trafficking.

The six men, who were caught with the contraband in Ras Freeman, near Liberta, were remanded to prison. The accused are James Sebastian of English Harbour and Ivan Gonsalves of Bethesda, along with Elroy Ralph, Glenroy Andrew, Kevin Samuel and Dennis Edwards all of Liberta.

They were further accused of possession of an unlicensed gun — a 7.62 Norinco Rifle and 11 rounds of ammunition.
