Nabi Tajima, of Japan, is now the world’s oldest verified living person.
This follows the death of Jamaican Violet Moss Brown yesterday.
Moss Brown, who was born on March 10, 1900, passed away at the Fairfield Medical Centre in St. James following a brief illness.
The Jamaican became the oldest living person on April 15 this year following the death of Emma Morano of Italy.
Her eldest child, Harold Fairweather, who was believed to be the world’s oldest living child with a parent alive, died a few months ago aged 97.
Brown was also the last living subject of Queen Victoria, having been born one year before the monarch died when Jamaica was still part of the British Empire.
Nabi Tajima, who is now the world’s oldest person, is 117 years old.
Smaddy Tek it already.
Such a short reign. RIP
