MAN KILLS HIS BROTHER OVER PORK

murder

AN elderly St Andrew farmer who reportedly killed his brother during a dispute over pork was offered $300,000 bail when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Attorney Kerry Ann Duhaney told the court during the bail application that the deceased, 61-year-old Noel Williams, attacked her client Paul Williams, 64, with a butcher knife.
Reports are that, on August 2, the deceased accused Paul Williams of cooking his pork without his permission and an argument developed.
A witness reportedly intervened in the altercation and advised the accused man to leave the premises, which he did.
Allegations are that the accused man returned at approximately 11:30 pm and a dispute again developed between the two, which resulted in a fight.
It is alleged that the accused man used a piece of board to hit the deceased several times in his head and upper body killing him on the spot.
The accused then fled the location after informing a friend of the incident. The police were summoned and the scene processed.
On August 3, the police returned to the Williams’ home where the accused man was apprehended and taken into custody.
Pending an outstanding post-mortem, a September 14 mention date was set.
