NIGHT WATCHMEN SHOT AT PRIMARY SCHOOL IN CLARENDON

An investigation is in progress into the shooting of two night watchmen at Thompson Town Primary School in Clarendon early Monday morning.

One of them later succumed to his injuries at hospital.

Richard Morgan, Principal of Thompson Town Primary, said a team from the Ministry of Education is expected to provide grief counselling to the students.

In a statement Monday afternoon, Minister of Education Senator Ruel Reid, condemned the attack at Thompson Town Primary School.

Senator Reid extended condolences to the family of the dead watchman, 39 year old Alrick Carthy, and the school community.

He has also appealed for calm while the police conduct investigations.
