Popular Montego Bay mortician, 31-year-old Chrissy Vaughan, who was shot dead in Bogue Village, St James after leaving a party Monday morning, died leaving a three-month-old baby.
According to a close family member, Vaughan, who was also a part-time lecturer at the Montego Bay Community College, was at the party with her spouse when two men started a fuss.
According to the bereaved family member, in a bid to get her out of harm’s reach, the mortician’s hubby advised her to leave the venue.
However, as soon as she was reversing her motor car to leave the facility one of the feuding men discharged his firearm and the mortician was hit, the family member said.
Yesterday, a usually reliable Jamaica Observer source revealed that the police were following strong leads in the case.
On Monday, Assistant Superintendent Gary McKenzie, head of operations at the St James Police Division, told reporters during a press conference in Montego Bay that the shooter is known to persons who were in attendance at the party, so he will be caught soon.
Vaughan, said the police, was found slumped over the steering wheel of her car, suffering from a gunshot wound.
She was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead

She left the immediate area of the function by getting into her vehicle.
To leave the party/event vicinity in its entirety she needed to REVERSE the car to drive away altogether….hope this simplify or complicate you reading comprehension some. Some of you people make simple things complex.

It is sad to know that the argument between the two men didn’t have anything to do with this woman… And for her husband to tell her to leave and not leave right along with her as well.. but for one of the men to fire shots towards the car, I can’t understand if the argument was at the party, how did it reach outside and while she’s backing out to leave then shots are fired towards her at that very moment, the story doesn’t add up still but yet in still that person needs to be jailed…
Another News source said she got into argument with her best friend’s boyfriend and he was the one who fired at her
