Pastors on s3x charges hire big lawyers
The two pastors charged with having s3x with a minor have hired two top criminal defence attorneys to lead their defence.
Former Moravian president Dr Paul Gardner and his former deputy, Jermaine Gibson, have brought in Peter Champagnie and Pierre Rogers as their lawyers.
Lambert Johnson, who had issued statements on behalf of the clergymen, has been sidelined.
Gibson and Gardner appeared in the Manchester Parish Court yesterday, and the prosecution has indicated that the case file is ready to proceed with the case against the men.
Bail has been extended for both accused until next Wednesday when they are scheduled to return to court.
They are charged in connection with a series of incidents dating back to 2002 involving a girl who was below the age of consent at the time.
Both pastors allegedly had s3x with the girl.
They have denied the allegations.
