INTERNATIONAL recording artiste Shaggy was recently in the western Pacific island of Guam to assist in raising funds for typhoon-ravaged Saipan.

The entertainer performed to a packed Guam Greyhound Park at a concert that raised over US$1 million dollars to aide in the recovery efforts.

Throughout his set, Shaggy delivered a string of hits including Boombastic, It Wasn’t Me, and Angel. He also had his fans singing along to a few of his latest singles such as I Need Your Love and Only Love, which features Pitbull and Gene Noble.

Typhoon Soudelor — with its 120 mph gust winds — left a trail of destruction on Saipan after a direct hit on August 2 and 3. No deaths were reported. However, more than 50,000 residents and tourists were left without power, water and homes. Airport and seaport operations were halted while all commercial activities were at a standstill.

All proceeds from the Steven Brownstein Entertainment production will go toward the Lady Diana Torres Foundation to aid the recovery effort.
