Rodolph Austin, the Jamaican football team captain and former Leeds United player (2012 – 2015) who has 82 caps for his country has been refused a work permit under the new rules which states that a player’s country of origin has to be in the top 50 in Fifa’s rankings over the last two years and Jamaica was in the top 75. His little boy, who is two, was born in England and Rudy and his wife want to make their home here. He was two years away from being naturalised but now he’ll have to leave the UK. He has been offered a three year contract with Sheffield Wednesday which would have made him one of their highest paid player but cannot take up this opportunity because of the new regulations. He has been a fantastic player for club and country especially the recent exploits in the recently concluded Concacaf Goldcup 15 in which he lead his team the The Reggae Boyz to runners up. Please support this petition so that The UK Border Agency will review his case.”SUPPORT RUDY’ Thank you.
